The Japanese anime business was founded a long time ago, in the early 20th century. Astro Boy was the first successful anime series to make a name for itself in the 1960s, and the industry has never looked back since. More than 20,000 anime are available now, but have you ever wondered which anime has the most episodes?
One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto are well-known anime shows with enormous numbers of episodes counted during the series, but did you know that none of these three has the most number of episodes counted in anime history? Yes, Sazae-san is at the top of the list.
Sazae-san is the world’s longest-running animated series, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The show debuted in 1969 and has since aired over 2500 episodes. Notably, the anime series is still in production, with new episodes airing on Fuji TV every week.
