Natsuki Hanae Thought He’d Die When Recording Tanjiro’s fight in Season 2

AnimeJapan 2022 went over without a hitch, with a slew of new anime projects unveiled during the course of the two-day event in Japan. Many popular voice actors attended their respective anime stages to share their experiences, and a similar anecdote was given by Natsuki Hanae, the voice actor of Tanjiro, who acknowledged that he struggled to voice in a recording session.

The cast of the anime television series, which includes Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro), Katsuyuki Konishi (Tengen), Akari Kito (Nezuko), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu), and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke), graced the stage at AnimeJapan 2022’s special stage for Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer.

As Demon Slayer Season 2 highlights aired on the huge screen, the voice actors detailed their recording sessions. Natsuki Hanae claimed in a scene from Episode 10 where Tengen and Tanjiro fight Gyutaro that he feared he would die due to the arduous recording sessions in this moment.

Hanae remarked of Tanjiro’s fight in Episode 10 of Entertainment District Arc, “The post-recording was so hard every week I thought I would die.” Everyone was yelling all the time; it was incredible.” Tengen’s voice actor also remarked that the sessions involved a lot of physical labour and were quite difficult.

The seiyuu went on to say that while viewing the scene on TV, he got goosebumps and started crying. “The recording demanded a lot of physical power and was extremely difficult labour, but I liked the confrontation with the Gyutaro.” I experienced goosebumps while seeing the scene on television. “It had been a long time since I cried in a non-moving scene,” Konishi explained.

In addition to the rigorous recording sessions during Demon Slayer Season 2, Natsuki Hanae appreciated Daki’s voice actor and his colleague’s voice acting abilities. He was moved by Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke fighting together in Episode 8 of the anime.

According to Hanae, the Demon Slayer Corps fought through connecting people’s minds and feelings. Similarly, anime is made possible by the thoughts and feelings of many people. Hanae stated that he would accept these thoughts and feelings and continue to do his best to represent Tanjiro.
